Healthy

The National HealthCouncil advises adults to take in 450 mg of omega-3 fatty acids a day. This means eating fish twice a week of which at least one portion should be fatty fish, because it is rich in omega-3. Claresse contains 750 mg of omega-3 fatty acids per 100 grams of fish, which puts it close to, for example, salmon.

Omega-3 fatty acids are important for a good health. The fatty acids aren't made by the human body, but have to be obtained through the right food. Fish is an important nutritional source for fatty acids. The omega-3 fatty acids are ?healthy fat?; they contain unsaturated fats which, amongst others, reduce the cholesterol level in the blood.

Apart from having a positive effect on the cholesterol level, omega-3 fatty acids are also beneficial to the blood pressure, the heart and general resistance. In European countries with a relatively high consumption of fish, less people die of heart and vascular diseases
